Our Work

Education

تعلیم

Most children who leave school in Pakistan do not leave because they cannot learn. They leave because a uniform wore out, fees fell due in a difficult month, or the nearest school was too far to reach safely. Our education work concentrates on those practical breaking points.

What this programme covers

  • School fees and enrolment support
  • Books, stationery and uniforms
  • Learning support outside school hours
  • Quran and religious education
  • Encouraging girls to stay in school

Approach

Access before anything else

A child cannot benefit from a curriculum they never reach. We work with families at the point where schooling becomes unaffordable — the start of a term, a change in household income, a move to a new area — and cover the specific cost that would otherwise end a child's education that year.

Learning that continues at home

Many of the children we support are the first in their family to read fluently, so there is no one at home to help with homework. Supplementary learning sessions give those children somewhere to go when they get stuck, rather than falling quietly behind.

Girls in the classroom

Where families are hesitant about continued schooling for daughters, the conversation is usually about distance, cost and safety rather than principle. We work through those concerns directly with parents, one household at a time.

Scope

What this programme does not do

Education work at community level cannot replace a functioning public system, and we do not present it as though it could. Where a household needs something beyond what this programme covers, our role is to say so and help them reach the service that can.

Specific project names, locations and figures for this programme will be published on the Impact page once they have been confirmed from our own records.

Support our education work

Donations can be directed to education specifically, or left general so they can go where the need is greatest that month.
